Confocal Sales Specialist (New England)

Optical Analysis Corporation "OAC", a successful microscope distributor for over 15 years, has an immediate opening for a Confocal Specialist in the New England area. This position will represent OAC in the greater New England area providing sales and support of the Olympus Fluoview confocal microscope line including the newly released Multi Photon Confocal System.

The Confocal Sales Representative will promote the confocal systems business. Work in conjunction with Microscope Sales Representatives to make confocal system sales to customers in the life sciences. Quotes confocal costs, closes confocal systems sales, and provides post sale system support. Configures customized confocal systems, installs systems, performs demonstrations, and trains system users. Troubleshoots hardware, software, and optical problems. Performs other related duties as assigned and keep area sales manager apprised of sales, marketing and productivity.

(ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED) A minimum of 4 years of experience in confocal or imaging systems software and technology is required. Microscopy confocal or imaging experience is required, specifically in computer integration, scientific confocal or imaging software, and microscope hardware. Must be able to travel regularly within a given territory. Confocal or imaging sales experience is preferred. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, preferably in Natural Sciences.

The primary focus for this position will be the Life Science Research Market. The ideal candidate will have experience in selling to the biotech, research and pharmaceutical markets. Candidate should have the following:

A Strong Sales Background Preferred, but will train the right person.
BS in the Life Sciences Preferred but, will consider other Science Backgrounds
Good Computer, Software, and Imaging Skills (or the ability to learn high end microscopy products)
Previous Hands-On Microscopy Applications Experience Preferred

Responsibilities will include:

Customer visits and analysis of customer's imaging needs.
Demonstration of the software and onsite work with the customer
Organization of exhibitions and workshops
Sales support of existing customers
Following up and generating leads and interest

The ideal candidate will have experience in using and explaining to others the concepts and features of these software packages and confocal technology and offering solutions to numerous research applications. Candidate Should have the following:

A Strong Sales Background Preferred, but will train the right person
BS in the Life Sciences Preferred but, will consider other Science Backgrounds
Worked in an imaging core, Confocal core or have previously sold Imaging software
Previous Hands-On Imaging and confocal Software Experience Preferred

This position will represent OAC in and around the Chicago area providing service to several brands of microscopes. The primary focus for this position will be cleaning and aligning of microscopes and optical equipment. Industry and brand specific training is available. Candidate should have the following:

Exceptional organizational skills.
Previous Training in optical/equipment repair.
Good personal skills as this position will require interaction with end users and the acquisition and maintenance of contracts.
Previous Hands-On Microscopy Service Experience Preferred.
